SK Social Media

Written by Alexandra Stepe | January 2025

SK Collaborative is a small green construction consulting firm located in Decatur GA. Their mission is to increase the energy efficiency of buildings, so that they can last a long time and lower bills for low income housing. I was in charge of creating brand content and social media writing while working at SK Collaborative during my Green Building Business Administration Internship from May to December 2025.

Showcase: Branding Content Created For SK Collaborative

Most of the content for SK Collaborative was related to attending conferences and events throughout the year. Below is the showcase of the content I created to promote these events.

Skills I Used During My Experience

While designing social media content for SK Collaborative, I developed skills in brand consistency by applying the company’s color palette, logo, and anniversary badge across all graphics.

I practiced visual hierarchy and layout design by organizing elements so that key information—like the event title, speaker, date, and location—stood out clearly. I used image editing tools, such as background removal and masking, to cleanly cut out team member photos and ensure they were well-integrated into the design.

I also gained experience with platform-specific formatting by designing within LinkedIn’s recommended image dimensions and resolution guidelines. In addition, I strengthened my visual communication skills by balancing clear messaging with clean, professional design. I learned how to reuse layout components to create consistency across posts while customizing each one to fit the subject.

These projects helped me grow in areas like graphic design, digital marketing, and content creation.
